Dr. James Hollis: "Creating A Life"

When was the last time you could recommend something to everyone you
hold dear to your heart?  OK, itıs not too hard to imagine a favorite movie,
book, or art exhibit. But how many of those suggestions truly have had the
power to change lives?

Allow me to assert that Dr. James Hollisıs May 10-11, 2002, workshop
entitled, "Creating A Life" holds this power.  All of us who attended
honestly began to examine our lives.  The good news: Even if you missed this
extraordinary event, you can still benefit by asking yourself the questions
Dr. Hollis posed. (For a summary of these questions, please visit Jungian
Ventureıs web site at www.stormpages.com/jungianvent/.)

James Hollis quoted Jung during his opening night lecture by stating,
"We all walk in shoes too small for us."  None of us is meant to be pinched
or confined.  Letıs embrace this wonderful thought.  We all have the need to
grow into larger versions of ourselves.

Dr. Hollis practically begs us to take responsibility for the continued
growth of our selves. (He is too seasoned an analyst and too wise a person
to actually beg!)  He asks each of us to consider: "How does my soul call me
to use my energy at this point in my life?" and "What does my psyche want?"
Answering these questions leads us to dig deeper into our own lives so that
we can become more authentic.

We should all follow Dr. Hollis's lead.  Explore archaic messages you
absorbed at a young age and by which you have been leading your life.
Decide which of these messages are actually destructive and need to be
challenged at this time in your life.

Dr. Hollis believes our greatest periods of growth occur after we
experience a wound to our egos.  Underneath these surface scars, our souls
are aching to become more alive to us.  Once recognized, our souls blossom.

Stay tuned to your true personhood for it longs to be expressed.  And,
go ahead, mark your calendars for October 3rd and 4th, 2003, when Dr. James
Hollis next returns as a honored guest of Jungian Venture.
